Words and listening have always been at the heart of my work.
Writing offers a way to listen more closely — to what’s stirring beneath the surface, to what’s asking to be named. Deep listening, in turn, creates space for words and feelings to land, soften, and reveal what’s beneath the noise.
What you’ll find here are different ways to meet that process — through books, spoken reflections, and quiet, intentional pauses.
Flow Journaling
Flow Journaling is a simple, compassionate writing practice I’ve developed through many years of personal journaling, therapeutic work, and listening closely to how people change.
It’s not about writing well, analysing your thoughts, or finding the ‘right’ words. It’s about practicing non-judgement; allowing something honest to flow onto the page — gently, at your own pace, using carefully crafted compassion-based prompts.
This practice is a thread that runs through my books, courses, groups, and ongoing spaces, offering a way to listen inwardly with discernment and profound compassion.
Books & journals
I’ve written a number of books including journals and oracle cards over the years — each one shaped by my own lived experience, and by a deep trust in the wisdom that emerges when we pause and allow the words to flow.
Some are practical and gently guiding.
Some are poetic and reflective.
All are invitations into compassionate self-enquiry.
These books are companions — offering prompts, reflections, and space to listen to your own inner wisdom.
the Henny Flynn podcast
Alongside writing, I share regular spoken reflections through the Henny Flynn podcast.
This is a space that acknowledges our inherent uniqueness and our shared humanity. Episodes weave together lived experience, psychology, mindfulness, Flow Journaling and practical, everyday compassion.
You’re invited to settle in and listen, and see where the episodes take you.
Weekly practice
For those drawn to something even more spacious, I also share A piece of quiet — a private, weekly podcast.
These short, gently guided meditations are offered as a place to rest, soften and return to yourself. There are no requirements made of you, no pressure to keep up — just a simple weekly rhythm of listening, and an invitation to journal, if that calls you.
This is not a course or a challenge. It’s an invitation to be.
Field Notes.
Sporadic, heart-felt, personal.
These occasional written reflections are longer-form pieces — something to sink into with a warm cup of your favourite brew.
Sometimes practical, often lyrical, they demand nothing and are offered with love.
